Known for good lubricity properties, this super white and highly refined semi solids conform to Indian Pharmacopoeia, I.P. 2007 specifications. White Soft Paraffin IP 2007 is widely used in cosmetics and pharmaceutical industries as a vehicle in ointments and other formulations. Other details of White Soft Paraffin IP 2007 are as follows: White, translucent, odorless, when cold & rubbed on skin & tasteless These are Soluble in chloroform and solvent ether, but are insoluble in alcohol and ether & are unctuous to touch Packaging: 170 Kgs M.S. open mouth barrels Testing Procedure: Indian pharmacopoeia, IP 2007 White Soft Paraffin IP 2007 is available in following grades: Snow White Grade: It finds varied applications in pain balms, ointments, soft gelatin capsules and cosmetic creams & lotions Opthalmic Grade: It is used in eye ointments, eye applicaps and special cosmetic creams Vaporolatum Grade: This grade of petroleum jelly is used in high end skin creams, topicals & vapor rub (Vicks type) applications because of its lustrous long fibrous structure Fibrolatum (Ultimo): It is also used in skin lotions, salves and vapor rubs Typical Properties: Solubility : complies Acidity & alkalinity : complies Fixed Oils, Fats and Rosins : Complies Sulphated Ash : Less than 0.1% ( Passes ) Consistency at 25ºC : 100 to 300 Melting Point : 38 to 56 °C Foreign organic matter : complies Reactions : complies Light absorption of 0.05% w/v : NMT 0.5 solution in Iso octane at 240 - 290 nm | |
